Dear Almond families,

🎃 Almond's Third Annual TRUNK OR TREAT is Coming! 🎃

Mark your calendars! On Friday, October 30, from 5:30–7:30 PM, join us in the Almond parking lot for our third annual Trunk or Treat. The event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome!

We need your help!
Trunk or Treat only works with lots of decorated trunks, so we're looking for adults willing to decorate their cars for the evening. If you'd like to join in, please sign up to decorate your car and reserve a parking spot here: [Sign up here]
Need ideas? Check out photos from last year's event for inspiration: [Inspiration]

Supporting a great cause
Like last year, Trunk or Treat will also be a fundraiser for kids in need. We're currently reaching out to several organizations, including a local children's hospital, about partnering with us this year. We'll share who we're raising funds for as soon as it's confirmed, so stay tuned for updates in upcoming Thursday Words!

Food and drinks
We'll be selling pizza and drinks at the event. Please bring cash only. All profits will go to this year's fundraiser.

Questions?
Email Mr. Martín at rmartinmunoz@lasdschools.org
We hope to see you there! Come in costume, bring your friends and family, and help us make this year's Trunk or Treat the best one yet!

🎃 Annual Almond Halloween Parade – Friday, October 30th
It’s almost time for one of our favorite fall traditions—our Annual Halloween Parade! Families are invited to join us on the blacktop in front of the main hallway as we kick things off promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Students will gather on the blacktop and parade around together so everyone can enjoy the fun and show off their Halloween spirit! 👻🎃
Students are welcome to come to school in costume! Please remember:
  • Costumes should be school-appropriate and free of blood or gore.
  • No weapons or weapon-like accessories.
  • No masks during the school day (masks may be worn for the parade only).
  • No costumes with inappropriate language or images.
We can’t wait to see our Almond Eagles dressed up and ready for some Halloween fun! 🎃👻

Join us this Saturday at the Almond Walkathon

Lace up your sneakers, come cheer on our Eagles, and join us for a fun morning together—details can be found in the PTA section below.

Matilda Movie Night on Wed 10/21!

Join us for a Family Movie Night on Wednesday, October 21 from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Multi. We’re prepping for the November musical by showing Matilda! We will have cheese pizza and fruit on a first come, first served basis starting at 5:30 PM – or you're welcome to bring your own food and picnic before the movie starts. Parents are required to remain on campus. Bring picnic blankets, pillows, blankets, and stuffies for the movie. We hope to see you there!

🌮 CHIPOTLE Fundraiser was a success thanks to your support!

Thanks to all the families who came and supported the PTA on Tuesday, October 13th at our local Chipotle. We raised $659 just by going out to dinner! Families hung out, kids played and we made money!  We’re hoping to host more dining out fundraisers throughout the year and would love your suggestions!

Trunk or Treat coming up on October 30th! -

Start planning your car decor! We need a parking lot full of cars to make this work! Sign-up sheet coming soon from the 5th grade class.
