Dear Almond families,

Our Annual Almond Walkathon is coming up on Saturday, October 17th, from 9:00 a.m. to about 1:00 p.m. Bring your hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water, and get ready for a fun day together as a community. We can’t wait to see you there!

Please see below in the PTA section for more specific information about the Walkathon.

Almond Book Fair was a wonderful success! It was amazing to see so many books find their way into the hands of our students, teachers, and staff. A heartfelt thank you to Ginny Leung, and Caitlin Hannon, who co-chaired this wonderful event, along with the more than 25 volunteers who generously shared their time and energy. Your dedication helped create a joyful celebration of reading for our Almond community!

Here’s to filling our shelves, sparking imaginations, and nurturing a lifelong love of reading!

📚 Book Fair Recap

Our Book Fair was a great success, raising over $1,500! Our Almond students and families enjoyed browsing books, choosing new titles, replenishing classroom collections, and fulfilling teacher/library wishlists!

None of this would be possible without the incredible support and efforts from:

  • Book Fair Co-Chairs, Ginny Moore Leung and Caitlin Hannon, for their leadership and organization of the three-day fair
  • Linden Tree Bookstore for their continued partnership and curation of exciting books for readers of all ages in the Almond community
  • Parent Volunteers who took time out of their day to help supervise sales before, during, and after school, and even taught kids valuable lessons about calculating sales tax!
  • The Assistance League of Los Altos for their generosity and for making literacy a priority for all students!

🚶‍♀️🚲 Almond Walk or Wheel to School Day on Wednesday, October 7th 🎉

Lace up your sneakers, hop on your bike or scooter and head to school the GREEN way for Walk or Wheel to School Day! Come early as Green Team Los Altos will be onsite with their popular pedal-powered smoothie bike and the Los Altos Police Department will be there with some goodies and keeping an eye on safety.

🌮 CHIPOTLE Fundraiser on Oct.13th!

Grab a few friends / family members and swing by Chipotle (on San Antonio & El Camino) for dinner on Tuesday, October 13th from 5 - 9 pm! Stop by anytime in that window and mention “Almond Elementary”, and our PTA will receive 25% of affiliated sales.

Can’t wait to see you there!
