Title:
6th Grade Teacher
Kathy Day-Bobb

I guess I can say, “teaching found me,” while I was in the middle of my graduate degree work in Drama Therapy at CA State University, Los Angeles. When the graduate program was canceled my 2nd year in, I wondered what I’d do. I leaned on my background experience of teaching drama in an elementary school while getting my BA in Communications and Theater at the University of Northern Iowa. So, I forged forward and completed my teaching credential, then completed my Masters degree. My 30 years as an educator has spanned from teaching primary grades in the underserved community of Compton, CA to teaching college courses at my alma mater. I navigated my teaching path to the Los Altos School District about 20 plus years ago and have taught a variety of grades at multiple schools.

Along my education journey, I raised a successful 31 year old daughter. When I’m not working, I’m connecting with family or friends, hiking, running, dancing, reading or traveling. I have “found teaching” has provided me the opportunity to share life with so many children that I have been honored to be their teacher.
