Welcome to Third Grade at Almond!  I am so thrilled to be your child’s teacher. I know this will be an awesome year! I have had experience teaching special education, Kindergarten, first, second, and third grades. I received my BA from the University of Oregon in 1997 in Communication Disorders. In 2017, I completed my MA in Curriculum Design and Instruction from Concordia University, Irvine. My husband Jeff and I just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. We have two sons, Nolan (19) and Spencer (18), both former students at Almond. In my spare time, I love to cook, travel, and read.

     For your child’s journey to be successful, it is essential for me to understand that each child is a unique individual with special qualities and needs.  With the support of students and families, we will create a classroom environment that will recognize and respect individuality. To support each student’s learning, I will create a classroom that offers a variety of meaningful teaching styles so that each child will have the opportunity to succeed. The children will grow and learn at their own rate. I invite you to play an active role in your child’s education by talking with your child each day about their learning, reading together every night, and communicating with me.
 
     I want there to be open communication between us.   If at any time you have a question, I will be happy to talk with you.  Please email me and I will try to respond as soon as possible. I want you to feel well informed throughout the year.  I will send home an email blast every Friday highlighting learning from the week along with reminders. I will also be communicating with you from time to time to let you know how your child is progressing and address concerns I may have.
