Junior Olympics is a wonderful, spirited tradition in the Los Altos School District. Fourth, fifth and sixth graders from all seven Los Altos elementary schools gather for a day of fun, food and good spirited competition. The day starts with an opening ceremony and Olympic procession. Student athletes proudly parade around the track carrying their school banner, wearing their school t-shirts, and marching to the lively music provided by sixth grade band members. Students compete in track and field events throughout the day. Many parents feel it is one of the most important and memorable activities their child participates in during their elementary school years.
